Campsite with cliffs, Braga

Near Braga village, Annapurna region, Nepal

Sun comes early to this campsite - and the occasional yak! On the opposite side of the valley to this photo is the village of Braga, noted for its ancient gompa. We camp here to get the sun and the views.

Our Manaslu trek is mostly through very remote regions, with very few trekkers. A few days before the end of our trek we join the Annapurna circuit, a major trekking route for many visitors to Nepal. Quite suddenly we find ourselvews on a trail with other trekkers! However, joining the main trail near Braga brings the added attractions of tea-shops with beer and fresh bread!
