'Avenue of the Ancients', Ramoji Film Studio, Hyderabad

Actually, I have no idea what this corridor of statues is called but 'Avenue of the Ancients' sounds about right! During our textile tour to South India we stay for a couple of nights at this place. Ramoji is a huge film studio near Hyderabad. For those interested in arcane facts, they make more Telegu speaking movies here than anywhere else in the world. It is quite a place!

As you might expect there is a very great deal of kitsch with a very definite Indian flavour. These impressive statues for example. The fact that these, very solid looking, giants are made of plastic simply adds to the wonder! Don't knock it - the place is quite a lot of fun!
