Roopangarh bazaar, Rajasthan
the bazaar Roopangarh
It's always a delight to walk through a Rajasthan village, especially one like this that is little visited by tourists. Roopangarh was a minor tributary state of the Maharajah of Kishangarh, a region blessed with the great marble quarries which were the source of cladding for the Taj and many other Moghul monuments. The streets of Roopangarh are too narrow for motor vehicles. Agreat place for strolling.
We take lunch in the old palace of Roopangarh before an overnight stay in the palace of Kishangarh, just down the road. If you like to wander lanes like this, join our tour to the north of 'Amazing-India'.
