Looking north towards Mustang,
Nepal
This picture is taking from nearly the same location as last month's photo. This picture looks north to where the river flats end. Here, is the commencement of a deep impassable gorge where the trail has to head high on either bank.
The umbrella Diane carries is an essential trekking aid. Walking in the shade of a brolly adds immensely to your comfort. However, late each afternoon an umbrella stands the risk of being flipped apart by the strong katabatic winds which blow down-valley from the Tibetan plateau.
