Stairway to the gods, Tsum: Nepal

I like this picture. It suggests a giant stairway of terraces to the small gompa at the top.
The Tsum region is readily accessible from the Kyirong valley of Tibet. It was up the Kyirong valley in the latter part of the 8th century that Buddhism was first taken into Tibet by the Indian saint Padma Sambhava. (Guru Rimpoche) Kyirong was also birthplace and home to the famous Tibetan guru, Mila Repa.
Not surprisingly, there are many very old Buddhist gompas (temples) in Tsum. This is one of them.
